16-inch Sonoran flour tortilla

You can travel all over the Southwest U.S. looking for authentic Mexican food.  You can go to ethnic grocery stores in any major U.S. city.  But you will not find as good a tortilla as made by the women of Sonora Mexico.

Made in a very primitive way, these very large flour tortillas - probably 16" across - are the thinnest I have ever seen. And almost "see through."

We had a terrific time Friday night with our friends, the Gastelums from Ures, Sonora.  The homemade fajitas and beans, along with these unbelievable tortillas, made for a great supper on the patio.
